Sorry about the drop in posts - have horrible exams next week.
I think the medical school is trying to finish me off and they might well succeed this time. I have a five hour marathon OSCE tomorrow and then an exam on Thursday. What a bloody vile time.
I have loads to write about, and am behind with reading everyone elses blogs which is very frustrating .
I was going to put a picture of a stressed women in this post, but a picture of Ronaldo's bum seems to me to be a much better diversion away from exam stress.
Back soon

Good luck with the exams.
Hi N2D,
I've not long found your blog (surfed in here from Medically Brunette) and just want to say that as a nurse and midwfife myself, I think you are wonderfully brave for jumping the shark/crossing over to the dark side!!
I shall add you to my blogroll and look forward to reading of your adventures in Medical School and hopefully beyond with considerable interest!! :)
Good Luck.... with your exams.
Also I was wondering whether if someone with a Dip HE Operating Department Practice could apply to study GEP. Or would I need to study a post qualifying course first to improve my application...
Thanks
Hello! I stumbled across your blog; like you were, I am a student nurse hoping to make it to medicine someday. If you don't mind me asking, how hard was finding a place on a Medicine course after doing Nursing? Is there any stigma attached to such a changeover? (I'm in the UK too).
Yeah you can do it.. don't worry aren't you believe that you are capable. I sit for my Nursing OSCE too and exam as usual. at the same working as Incentive care nurse... Good Luck You have strong desire you .. you should follow its.Credit 4 u..Dr.
Hey, hope it all went well this past week, and if there are anymore to do that they fly in too!
Im still on the planet, but just a bit worried about my cover so the blogging has been put on hold for a wee while!

Hello - couldn't get a reply address up for you. I think that you have two ways to approach it. You could upgrade your Dip.He to a degree (Go for a 2:1 as it horrendous to get a place with a 2:2) and then apply to the graduate entry programmes. Or you could go and do an access course (There are ones in MCAT and Kings Lynn college) and apply directly with that. If you need anymore info, please get in touch again

Hello Mahli
It wasn't too bad getting a place - I would advise doing a GCSE in chemistry (And an AS or A if you can stomach it) Aim for a 2:1 in your degree and you can then apply direct.
I thought that there would be a big stigma around going from nurse to doctor, so much that I hardly told a soul that I was doing it!
In reality, I don't think anyone cares. I find myself going into long explanations when people ask me why I wanted to change from nursing and I suppose I feel a bit guilty but people have been positive (to my face anyway!)
Go for it I say
